Upstate Dispatch: July Update

I have stepped down from the board of the Catskills Water Discovery Center, but remain a volunteer at the East Branch Nature Preserve. Every week, I will spend time on the trail, doing nature reports and a bit of train spotting. The Delaware & Ulster Railroad will be running its historic tourist train throughout July and August and the train passes across the trailhead. It’s a magical place to be, watching the train trundle down the tracks, underneath a soft, breezy tree canopy, being waved at by tourists as they float by.

So now I’m free to continue Wild Walk & Watercolor in other locations across the Catskills. The next session will be on July 18th, 2026 1pm – 5pm at Lazy Crazy Acres Farm. Please click here to pay for your spot. Click here for the Wild Walk & Watercolor Page.

The AMR Open Studios Tour will take place from Friday July 24th to Sunday 26th, 2026. You can pick up a map from most retailers and restaurants in the Catskills. My studio will be open from 11am – 6pm on all three days.

I continue my biography of Alfie, my dog on Substack here.

My studio will be open Friday 11 – 4, Saturday 11 – 5, Sunday 11 – 4 every weekend throughout the Catskills.

818 Main Street, Margaretville, NY 12455. I hope to see you there soon!

Happy Summer from Upstate Dispatch!
